Pahalgam Terror Attack 2025: Kashmir bleeds again as terrorists strikes Pahalgam.

On April 22, 2025, a horrific terrorist attack occurred in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, claiming the lives of 26 innocent civilians. This has been termed one of the deadliest terror attacks by militants in recent Kashmir history.
Attack Details and Timeline
The terrorists opened fire at a popular tourist spot in Baisaran Valley, where visitors were enjoying swings and trekking.

26 people were killed, most of them were Hindu tourists.

Survivors reported that the terrorists asked victims their names and religion before shooting.

A video from an Ahmedabad tourist,36-year-old Rushi Bhatt surfaced showing him riding a zipline, smiling, while gunfire can be heard and a fellow tourist is seen falling.
Tension between India and Pakistan Escalates
India blamed Pakistan for the attack, post attack India took strict actios against Pakistan
1. Suspended Indus Water Treaty.
2. Shuts Indian Airspace for Pakistani Airlines.
3. Ask all Pakistani nationals to leave India within 48 Hrs.
4. Indian Army retaliated against countinious ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (L.O.C) post attack.

5. Bans all imports from Pakistan.
6. Suspends Postal services.
7. Denied port access to pakistani vessels.
8. Requested International Monetary Fund (I.M.F) and other Multilateral Institutions to review loans given to pakistan.
According to reports Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has given a free hand to the Armed Forces to respoond to the attack.
In his address to the nation Home Minister of India Amit Shah vows to avenge the deaths and eliminate terrorism from Indian soil.
National Investigative Agency (N.I.A) took over case investigation from Jammu and Kashmir Police and meet families of the victims.
N.I.A preliminary report suugest Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Pakistani Army, and Pakistan's
intelligence agency, Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI), were involved in the execution of the terrorist attack.
Financial Assistance for the families of the attack Victims by different State Governments
J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the attack and announced compensation for the families of the victims
1. Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceaced
2. Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured
3. Rs 1 lakh for minor injured
Maharastra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced Rs 50 lakh financial aid for the families of deceased from Maharastra.

International Reactions to the Attack
Over 60 countries and international organisations publicaly condemed the attack and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims of the attack.
U.S. State Department declared that “nothing can justify such a heinous act killing tourists and civilians”.
U.S. President Donald Trump said "The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism… Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies."
Prime Minister of Israel Bemjamin Netanyahu wrote on X "Our two countries stand shoulder to shoulder in the critical fight against murderous terrorism".
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X "Nous avons toujours été et serons toujours unis dans notre combat contre le terrorisme, sous toutes ses formes." (We have always been and will always be united in our fight against terrorism, in all its forms.).
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said "Our hope here is that india responds to the terrorist attack in a way that doesn't lead to a broder regional conflict, he also added that pakistan, to the extent they are responsible, cooperates with India to make sure that the terrorists sometimes operating in their territory are hunted down and dealt with."
